Atlantic Broadband Internet Assist

Dear School Families:

We hope that you are staying safe and healthy as we take precautionary steps in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

We know that many employees are now working from home, while students of all ages are adjusting to an online learning environment.  We recognize that these changes may be difficult for households that do not have easy access to the Internet.

To ensure that the public has access to the internet during the COVID-19 outbreak, particularly households with students, Atlantic Broadband, a local provider that serves homes in our school district, has introduced a new service, “Atlantic Broadband Internet Assist”.  The new service is available for a limited time to serviceable residents in Atlantic Broadband’s operating area who are in financial need and who do not presently have internet from Atlantic Broadband.

To qualify, residents must be eligible for any of the following public assistance programs: National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Public Housing Assistance, Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), and/or Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). Customers will be required to provide proof of eligibility subject to the review and discretion of Atlantic Broadband.

The 15/1 Mbps Internet Assist service, normally priced at $9.99 per month plus taxes and fees, will be offered free for 60 days with free installation and a free modem.  Those interested in the service should contact Atlantic Broadband at (888) 536-9600.

For other services that might fit your needs, see additional offerings at Atlanticbb.com.

Sincerely,

Atlantic Broadband

Affordable Connectivity Program

Bringing Affordable Internet to Families

As part of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Congress created the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) to bring affordable Internet and connected devices to low-income households. Under the ACP program, qualifying households receive subsidies of $30/month for Internet access and up to $100 toward the purchase of a connected device (computer or tablet) from an ACP provider. However, only 24% of eligible Pennsylvania households currently are taking advantage of this subsidy.

To learn more about ACP, including eligibility or enrollment information, call the ACP Support Center at (877) 384-2575.
