Cycle Day 4
The Mifflin County High School Marching Band is once again the Tournament of Bands, (TOB), Susquehanna Valley-Region 4 Champions in Group 3-A Class! The band traveled to Crispin Field in Berwick on Saturday to compete in the Regional Championship. The band finished in first place with a score of 92.220 and also won the Specialty Awards for Best Drumline and Color Guard. The Bloomsburg HS band finished in second place with a score of 85.805.
Band Director Art Belfiore commented, “the band had a wildly emotional and successful weekend. Friday night brought a very emotional performance during Senior recognition night at the football game against Greencastle-Antrim. The band had one of the best Senior Night performances I can remember! Congratulations to Coach Sechler and the team on a terrific victory. It was a great way for the senior band, football and cheerleaders to end their career at Mitchell Field.”
“Saturday brought another stellar performance by the band. Once again they raised the bar by scoring the highest score EVER earned by any Mifflin County Band, including the bands from Lewistown, Indian Valley and Kish High Schools. This band has really started to perform consistently and their level of excellence is that of a group much older and experienced. Everyone associated with the band program is extremely proud of what they have accomplished so far this season. We have one more week and I know it is going to be very exciting!”
The top 5 band scores from the 12 Tournament of Bands Regional Championships in Group 3-A Class are as follows:
The band will compete for the final time next week at the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships held in West Shore Stadium at Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill, PA. Tickets and other information about the event may be obtained from Mr. Belfiore at MCHS.
