MCHS Marching Band Starts 2024 Season
Posted on: September 24, 2024
The Mifflin County High School Marching Band started the Fall 2024 competitive season this past Saturday at Conemaugh Township High School in Davidsville, PA, (south of Johnstown).
The band started the season with a record setting score for the first competition with an 84.00. The band also won the Specialty Awards for Best Music, Best Visual (marching), Best Drum Line and Best Color Guard. Band Director Art Belfiore said, “The band did not have much time to sleep Friday night after the football game. Because the trip is so long to Conemaugh Township we had to have the band come in at 7 AM. Despite that the band had a great rehearsal and stellar performance. 84.00 is the highest score, for a first show of the year, the band has ever had. We are not finished the show yet and I expect that to happen over the next two weeks.”
The bands score of 84.00 puts them in 1st place overall in Tournament of Bands, (TOB), Group 4-Open Class ahead of Metuchen High School, Metuchen, NJ.
The MCHS Marching Band will again be in competition next Sat, September 28th at Shamokin Area HS in Coal Township, PA.
