Derry was built in 1938 and became an elementary facility in 1959. There
are three floor levels available for instructional purposes and a
spacious playground area for outdoor student activities.
There are approximately 170 students enrolled in grades K-5,
with over 25 professional and support staff members involved in
the educational development of the children. Students are
instructed in art, library, music and physical education in
addition to the full compliment of basic educational courses.
The last day of classes at Derry Elementary was January 30,
2004. This building is now closed. Students and staff have moved
to Lewistown Elementary School.
