Buchanan Elementary School recently celebrated a 50th
Anniversary. The building opened in 1951 as an elementary facility
and has continued in that capacity. The building is a two story
structure with on-site cafeteria service for breakfast and lunch,

regular classrooms. The playground has a black top and grass areas
for outside activities.
There are approximately 380 students enrolled in grades K-5,
with over 35 professional and support staff members involved in
the educational development of the children. Students are
instructed in art, library, music and physical education in
addition to the full compliment of basic educational courses.
