ELIGIBILITY: |
| |
All
students enrolling in summer
school classes listed below must
have FAILED the course in grades
9 through 12 during a regular
school year. Verification of
failure must be provided by the
home school guidance staff. For
courses with no final exam,
students must have at least a 60%
average (240 points) and have at
least one marking period with a
score of 68%. For courses with a
final exam, students must have at
least a 60% average (300 points)
and have at least one marking
period with a score of 68%.
Students outside the Mifflin
County School District will
follow their district’s grading
policy and summer school
eligibility criteria. |

$180.00 per course

| 7. ATTENDANCE: |
| |
Students may have NO MORE THAN
THREE (3) UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
during their summer school term
in order to receive full credit.
Excuses will only be accepted
from a doctor or other legal
authority (judge, district
magistrate, etc.). All other
absences will be unexcused. There
are no exceptions to this policy.
Students will have only 1 day to
make up missed work. Each student
and a parent will be required to
attend a summer school
orientation meeting. |
| 8. CLASS SIZE: |
| |
Each
class must have at least (12)
students in order to be offered.
If a class is canceled due to
insufficient enrollment, the
course fee will be returned. |
| 9. GRADES/CREDIT: |
| |
The
minimum passing score for summer
school will be 68% regardless of
the percentage needed to pass the
course. The home schools issue
final grades and credits.
Students should contact the home
school counselor or administrator
to understand the requirements
regarding credit and grades for
summer school. |

TRANSPORTATION: |
| |
Students will have to provide
their own transportation to and
from school. Students must
arrange for transportation
immediately following the
student’s last class. |

SUMMER SCHOOL STUDENTS AND PARENTS
You are required to
attend a Summer School orientation
meeting on June 25, 2008. THIS
IS A VERY IMPORTANT MEETING FOR BOTH
YOU AND YOUR PARENT(S)! YOU BOTH MUST
ATTEND. We want you to be
very successful in summer school and
feel this meeting will be helpful. At
orientation we will review the
expectations, rules and grading
policy as well as other general
information.
To accommodate
everyone’s schedule we have selected
two meeting times. You must attend
one of the sessions. Pick the one
most convenient for your parents and
you.
