Jack Meets the Cat
612 students completed The Real Game, which is a career bases unit in which they have occupational roles that must be used to complete a series of career related activities. One of the activities in the unit is to research a country and customize an act of a play to that country. The three countries represented in our play are Italy, France, and Spain. Students then had to use a story and convert it to a script. They had to adapt names, landmarks, keywords, and costumes to the country in which they researched. Jack Meet the Cat became Leonardo Meets the Gorilla. Below are photos from the play: (Click on a photo to enlarge)

George and Raphael tell their mother, Sophia, they want to seek their fortune. |
They decide to have a party to say "Goodbye." |
A knock comes at the door and it is Little Red Salvatore. |

So they think.... |
It was actually the Big Bad Gorilla! |
The next day Leonardo decides he is going to seek his fortune. |

They have a party for Leonardo and another knock comes to the door. |
This time it is Little Bo Peep. |
She steals their lunch and they discover it is NOT Little Bo Peep, but that Big Bad Gorilla again....they throw him out! |

Leonardo/Axel walks and walks and comes to an ocean. He isn't sure how to cross it. |
Two magic dolphins appear and tell him to call up the Gigantic, Frantic Tornado to carry him across the ocean. |
But instead, the tornado loses its wind and places him on a small island. |

Leonardo doesn't know how he is going to get across the desert on the island and sets down and begins to cry. |
He is hungry, but is in the middle of a desert, so there is no food or water anywhere. |
So he builds himself a fire and roasts a potato to eat. |

He feels something move under him and thinks it's an earthquake, but quickly discovers that he has been sitting on the back of a crab. |
The crab tells Leonardo that he should visit the three magic witches and ask them for help. |
He takes the crabs advice and sets off to find them. |
|
The first sister tells Leonardo she will help if her sisters agree. |
They do and dance around Leonardo and tell him that they gave him the ability to run like a lizard. |
So Leonardo runs and runs until he reaches the other side of the desert to seek his fortune!
