Strodes Mills Receives |

On March 4, 2009, the Department of the Army presented Strodes Mills Elementary with the flag of the United States that had been flown over the Headquarters of the Multi-National Corps-Iraq in Strodes Mills' honor during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Every month, the students at Strodes Mills Elementary, write letters/cards that are sent to the soldier dads from our school. SFC Robert B. Zimmerman initiated this action in appreciation for all the students do for the soldiers of the 2nd of the 112th and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. In the picture, Robbie and Rene Zimmerman are presenting the flag and the document to Mr. Styers, along with the other children of the soldier dads. Plans are for the flag and document to be framed and hung in the Strodes Mills Elementary Office. |
