| Firefighters
from the West Granville Fire Company visited the kindergarten classes at SMES to discuss
fire safety. They discussed different topics with the students like
calling 911, finding a meeting place outside, the danger of playing
with matches, and Stop, Drop, and Roll. |
They also demonstrated the
different gear that they wear in order to protect themselves in
the fire. |
Then the students had a chance to explore the inside
and outside of the fire truck. It was so much fun to see it up close. |
| When the program was through, each student received a fireman hat and a
goodie bag containing an activity book, a pencil, a pin, a bookmark, and a
pencil case. |
| |
| As an added bonus, the
McVeytown Fire Co. also sent brand new fire alarms for each
kindergarten child as well as to any new student in the Strodes Mills
Elementary school this year. Thank you so much for your generosity!
