CAREER CLUSTERS/PATHWAY
Objectives:
- To raise the level of learning
for all students.
- To prepare all students for life
long learning.
- To provide for a system of
counseling and management that
assists students in choosing a more
focused high school curriculum.
- To provide for flexibility in
career choice and course planning.
Choosing a Career...The Mifflin County (Path) Way
Prior to registration for high school,
the middle school counselor will meet
with all 8th graders in small groups to
accomplish the following goals:
- Identify the students’ natural
aptitudes.
- Identify the students’ interests.
- Examine the students’
performance.
- Synthesize this information for
realistic career/academic planning
and the selection of a career
cluster/pathway.
Throughout high school, students will
make course selections based on
recommendations associated with the
career cluster/pathway.

Special Computer Assistance
The Mifflin County School District uses
the Choices Program as its powerful
computerized database to access facts on
careers, post-secondary opportunities and
financial aid. Students need only to identify
an occupation title to be provided facts
useful in the planning process.
