day, earning 1.0 credit for a full
year or 0.5 credit for a semester.
- All students will register for a
minimum of 6.5 credits.
- A total of 3.0 credits for tenth
and eleventh grade each and 6.0 for
the twelfth grade year are awarded to
students who successfully complete a
full year of study at the Mifflin
Juniata Career and Technology Center.
- If you plan to participate in
sports at the college level, please
be sure to discuss your course
selection with your school counselor.
The NCAA Clearinghouse and colleges
are expecting an academic curriculum
with specific courses included.
Students who do not take the
appropriate courses WILL NOT be
eligible to participate in some
levels of college athletics. Please
check
www.ncaaclearinghouse.com for
more information.
- Credits earned, not chronological
age or number of years in school,
will determine whether a student is
promoted to the next grade. Students
are promoted to the next grade based
on credits earned toward graduation
as follows:
- 10th Grade - 4.5 Credits
- 11th Grade - 10.0 Credits
- 12th Grade – 16.0 Credits
- Graduation - 23.0 Credits

signed by the parent or guardian.
- Any registration form not
returned by the date indicated on the
registration form shall be completed
by the school counselor/principal.
Schedule changes shall NOT be honored
after this date for these students.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
- If there is a distinct
educational reason for a
schedule change, such changes will be
considered only during the first two
(2) weeks of school. Schedule changes
beyond the two (2) week period will
be considered on an individual basis.
- Any request for change should be
discussed with the student's school
counselor, who may discuss the
request with the Principal/Teacher
involved.
- Each case will be evaluated on an
individual basis and a decision will
be rendered according to the
academic/educational reasons for the
change.
- Schedule changes made later will
result in the student receiving a
final grade of 67% or whatever the
student had earned; whichever is
lower, if not replaced by another
course in the same content area.
- Requests for schedule changes
from students who do not return their
registration forms on time will not
be honored.
