Dear Students and Parents:
The Mifflin County
School District, with the cooperation of
parents and community, has prepared a
Strategic Plan to lead the district
forward with the goal of challenging all
students to reach their potential and to
develop the skills necessary to become
responsible, contributing members of
society.
Beginning with the
freshman class in high school, all
students will select courses to lead
toward the attainment of a high school
diploma. Graduation requirements are
explained in this course booklet. All
students will be expected to demonstrate
the following: communication,
interpersonal, decision making and
problem solving skills as well as the
principles of good citizenship.
This booklet contains
descriptions of various courses and
programs of study. The information
provided should help both students and
parents in the selection of courses most
appropriate to meet the needs and
interests of the student.
As you select courses,
please give thought to the student’s
career goals and/or educational plans.
The signature on the registration form
indicates to us that you participated in
the selection process and are in
agreement with the courses selected. The
school counselors of our schools are
prepared to assist you in making this
important decision.
Please take the time
to carefully plan now, for it is
difficult to make changes after the
course selection form is returned. For
more information regarding schedule
changes after the 2008-2009 school year
begins, please see the information on
page four.
