LAHS 2006 Wrestling Team

Congratulations to the LAHS wrestlers for their awesome performances at regional competition. The following wrestlers will move on to state competition:

Kyle Swineford - third in his weight class
Cody Johns, Matt Bonson and Matt Snyder - 2nd in their respective weight classes
Mike Robinson - Regional Champ at 125

During the weekend of February 24-26 at the District 6 AAA Wrestling tournament, 9 wrestlers from the LAHS wrestling team won the honor to compete in the following weekend's regional championships, the Northwest Regional Tournament. Nine competitors are a record number of wrestlers for Lewistown to have qualified for regionals. Regionals will be held at Altoona High School. The top three wrestlers in each weight class qualify for the PIAA state wrestling tournament held at the Giant Center in Hershey. The nine wrestlers competing are as follows:

103 - Matt Snyder (1st time at regionals)

119 - Matt Bonson (1x district champ, 2x district runner-up, 3x regional qualifier, 7th in the state)

125 - Mike (Chub) Robinson (2x district champ, 3x regional qualifier, 1x state qualifier)

130 - Kyle Swineford (3x regional qualifier)

135 - Cody Johns (2x district runner-up, 2x regional qualifier)

152 - Matt Gregg (1st time at regionals)

160 - Adam Stout (2x regional qualifier)

189 - Thad Gearhart (1st time at regionals)

HWT - Jeff Yohn (1st time at regionals)
