The True Warrior Award is a student recognition program that begins in the year 2005-2006.  In this program, students will be nominated once a month to be a True Warrior.  The winners will be invited to a celebratory breakfast, receive a True Warrior t-shirt, and have their picture on the web.  The criteria for selection is as follows:

1. Good effort, attitude and ethics (True Warriors don't have to be straight A students but are students that try hard, are well behaved and pleasant to have in class.)
2. The top two vote getters/team will be awarded.  There may be multiple winners if there is a tie.
3. If a student is nominated but does not win in a particular month, they may be nominated again.  We will, however, try not to have repeat Warriors. 

Another student recognition program begun in 2005-2006 is the Academic Excellence Award.  Similar to an honor roll, the program rewards students based on their grade average for each marking period.  Each student receives a certificate distributed during homeroom.  He/she also receives the following bonuses based on the level of their award:

1. Warrior Level= 93% or higher average for marking period.
   ---Free admission to 2 dances and 3 smile passes---

2. Gold Level= 89-92% average for marking period
   ---Free admission to 1 dance and 2 smile passes---    

3. Silver Level= 85-88% for marking period
   ---1/2 price to a dance and 1 smile pass---

Winners will receive a certificate, 3 smile passes and free admission to school dances.  (2 free for Warrior, 1 free for Gold, and 1/2 price for Silver.)
