JUNIORS: At this time, if you are planning to attend a 4 year
college, you should be setting up appointments and visiting schools to
find the best fit. Most students apply to 3 or 4 schools (1 is
your dream school, 1 is middle of the road and 1 is a "safety" school,
that you know you can get into). Please stop by the guidance
office to fill out a TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM to have your transcript
sent to prospective schools.
JUNIORS AND SENIORS: If you are planning to visit a
college/university during a school day, you must bring an excuse
from your parents at least 1 day ahead of time, or the absence will
be unexcused!
ATHLETES: If you plan to participate in
college-level athletics, you must complete the NCAA Clearinghouse form
at
www.ncaaclearinghouse.com before you graduate
(but not until your junior year). Print off two
forms and bring them to the guidance office.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION: Please notify your teachers and counselor
at least 2 weeks in advance if you need a letter. You want to
make sure they have enough time to write the best letter possible.
Don't forget to write them a thank you letter afterwards!
COMMON APPLICATION:
www.commonapp.org --please be sure to
print off enough copes for your counselor to complete for each school.
Also, please let us know which schools it should be sent to.
