Indian Valley High School Each month several students are nominated for
the "Student of the Month Award." Faculty members choose
students based on the criteria listed below. A
selection committee reviews each nomination, and one student from each
grade is then chosen as a winner. |

Academic Performance -- includes grades, class participation, completion of assignments Effort -- works hard despite ability or works up to innate ability Character -- displays "12 Traits of Good Character" which include adaptability, compassion, contemplation, honesty, initiative, loyalty, optimism, perseverance, respect, responsibility, and trustworthiness Behavior -- obeys rules, shows respect to peers and authority, well-mannered; includes behavior both inside and outside of the classroom Social Relationships -- displays leadership, willingness to help peers, shows respect to others Extra-Curricular Activities -- participates in school-sponsored, church, family, or community activities; may include volunteer or paid work Attendance -- Mr. Zinobile checks for regular attendance and tardiness
