"My Special Senior Friend" Essay Contest
Two Highland Park Area Elementary School students were selected as winners of their grade level/division by the committee members and judges of the 20th Annual "My Special Senior Friend" essay contest, sponsored by the Elder Community Services, Inc. On March 3, 2008 a recognition banquet was held in Mifflintown for winners, special senior friends and additional invited guests. A spaghetti and meatballs supper was served, followed by each student reading the essay written about his/her special senior friend.
