Student Letters to Mr.
& Mrs. Peachey and Mr. Smoker
Students wrote thank you letters to Mr. & Mrs. Peachey and Mr.
Smoker in Language Arts class with Mrs. Crawford. The students included at least two things they learned from their visit. Here are some samples:
Dear Mr. Peachey,
Thank you for giving up your time for us to come. I would like to come back. The best part of the farm trip was when we got to see Patty because we learned that you should cool it, cook it, clean it, and don’t cross it. I like how we learned to milk the cow. That was cool because I never did that before. I thought the farm was really , really, cool!!!
Sincerely,
Briana
Dear Mr. Smoker,
Thank you for letting us come to your farm. I really liked the station where I got to meet the baby calves. They were named Butch and Molly and I forget the other one’s name. After we got to pet them, one of them jumped up and ran through a hole in the wood and spilled its water. They were very little and very cute. One of the girls who ran the station was named my name- Chelsea! I learned that a calf has four stomachs, not two. It has four stomachs like its mother. I really love your farm.
Your friend,
Chelsea
Dear Mr. Peachey,
Thank you very much for letting us come to your farm. I liked the person who showed us how to milk a cow the most. I learned how to plant seeds and that a queen bee lays about 20 eggs every day. It was exciting being at your farm and learning about your animals.
Sincerely,
Desiree
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smoker,
I wanted to thank you for being our tour guide. The bees are what I liked best. I learned that bees honey makes candles. Bees take pollen from one flower to another. I learned that bees make a big colony. I learned that bees make honey. Next I learned how to make a bee house. After that all you have to do is put the pepper in the pepper smoker and that will put the bees to sleep, so you can get the honey. I appreciated that you nice people were our tour guides. I enjoyed the farm trip very, very much. I want to come back again. That’s how excited I am!
Sincerely,
Megan |
