Fire Prevention Week
On Wednesday, October 11, HPAE First Graders had visitors from the Yeagertown Fire Company. Firefighters Tami, Bob and Walt came to talk to the children about fire safety.
Firefighter Bob dressed in the fire protection equipment to show the children how he is able to do his important job of fighting fires and saving lives. Firefighter Tami helped the children to remember what to do in care of a fire. She reviewed many fire safety rules such as:
-
Stop! Drop! and Roll!
-
Crawl out from under smoke.
-
Never hide in the house if there is a fire.
-
Know you address and phone number.
-
Have a home fire escape plan.
All the children had the opportunity to go outside and see the Yeagertown fire engine. Everyone enjoyed the firefighter's visit!
The HPAE First Grade students and teachers want to thank Firefighter Tami and the Yeagertown Fire Company for this fine educational program.
Here are some photo memories of our experience.
