Friday morning we arose to another bright and sunny sky at Outdoor School. We all packed our belongings and cleaned up our cabins that were our home for the week. This was a sad day because none of us wanted to go home. We all had a good breakfast consisting of Hash Brown potatoes, Hard Boiled Eggs. Cinnamon Rolls and the normal breakfast bar. We then went into the lodge for a community meeting where we met Mr. Moneyworth from MegaCorp and heard his plan for turning Camp Blue Diamond into a commercial area. After Mr. Moneyworth's presentation, we were divided in three groups to discuss his plan. Those groups were: plants; animals; and people. We learned that only "people" have the right to vote, and that we have to vote FOR the plants and animals. We then got back into our learning groups and discussed things that we can do to prevent such plans from actually happening. We had our last lunch at ODS - Turkey and Cheese Sandwiches with the usual salad bar. The food was all GREAT. We had very little food waste the entire week. We also got to learn the "Cosmic Secret.," and the "Mystery Animal." After the community meeting we all received our Outdoor School t-shirt and we got everyone to sign our shirts. We also signed our Highland Park Outdoor School banner. After the meal we all got together for some group pictures and heard some closing comments from all our counselors. We're going to miss them!. We said our good-bys, and headed home for Highland Park. We had a week we will never forget!!
