IVMS September 2008True Warriors Selected
The IVMS True Warrior Award is a student recognition program that acknowledges students for good effort, attitude and ethics (True Warriors don't have to be straight A students but are students that try hard, are well behaved and pleasant to have in class.) The top two vote recipients per team will be awarded. Images of the September True Warriors are available from the IVMS web site
LMS Student Poster on Display at State Capital in October
  image - PLCB Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest Award RecipientKevin Cahill, a 7th grade student at Lewistown Middle School, has recently been named as one of the top entries in the 2008 Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest. This contest challenged students of all ages to create a poster discouraging underage drinking. This year, more than 1,600 entries were submitted to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. Only fifty-seven students were chosen as award winners.

For his efforts, Kevin has been awarded a $50 Savings Bond, and has been invited to a ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg on October 21, 2008. In addition, Kevin's poster, along with all the winning entries from the 2008 alcohol awareness poster contest, will be on exhibit at the Capital from October 14-24, 2008.
