Reading Curriculum
Story Inspires
Tournament |
The 5th grade
reading curriculum
includes a story
called "The Marble
Champ", by Gary Soto,
which is about a
twelve-year-old girl
who longs to win a
sports competition is
spite of her numerous
awards for scholastic
endeavors. She
discovers that any
goal is possible
through dedicated
training and
perseverance. After
reading how this girl
became a "Marble
Champ," the 5th grade
had a marble playing
competition within
all 5th grades.
