 Congratulations
to Ben Matthews who
has been selected to
perform in the 2007
MENC All-Eastern
Honors Choir
Ensemble.
The performance
will be in Hartford,
Connecticut on March
11, 2007.
The Choir Ensemble
will have
approximately 350
vocalists from the
Eastern Division,
which includes
Connecticut,
Washington, DC,
Massachusetts,
Maryland, Maine, New
Hampshire, New
Jersey, New York,
Rhode Island,
Pennsylvania, Vermont
and Europe. Each of
the state music
educators
associations oversee
the selection process
in their state during
the early Spring or
early Fall of the
year before the event
and compile ranked
lists of recommended
juniors and seniors
for consideration.
All recommended
students must have
participated in their
home all-state
festival.
During the
All-State festival in
March of this year,
Ben auditioned for
All-Eastern Choir.
Ben filled out an
application for the
2007 All-Eastern
Choir at that time.
His participation in
All-State Choir, and
his audition at the
All-State for All
Eastern Choir as well
as rankings from
other festivals were
all factored in for
consideration for him
to be selected.

Brown
Elementary students
collected money to
buy transponder wrist
bands that track
where the children
are when they are in
the hospital.
Transponder wrist
bands are a safety
measure for children.
