The SECOND STEP AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM is held once a week at the CAREERLINK MIFFLIN COUNTY for elementary students.  The activity begins immediately after school and ends at 4:45pm.  Transportation is provided to and from the activity.  Students are picked up at their elementary school at the time of dismissal and transported to the Careerlink.  Students are transported home following the activity at 4:45pm.  The day of the activity depends on what grade the child is in:

TUESDAYS:               Students in 1st and 2nd grades

WEDNESDAYS:         Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades

This activity includes a snack, a time for students to work on homework assignments, and a Second Step Lesson.   Second Step is a researched based violence prevention curriculum designed to increase social skills and reduce violence among young people.  This program teaches problem solving and other skills needed in getting along with others and resisting peer pressure.

Parents are welcome to attend this activity with their child, however, this is NOT mandatory.
