Take Your Child To Work Day
requires a parent/guardian completed consent form, which can be
obtained by your child or you the parent during regular school
hours in the office. You must fill the Parent/Consent Form
out completely and have your Employer fill out his/her
part of the Consent Form.
Please pay close attention to the details on this form and make
sure it is complete before handing it in to the office. Making
sure the form is complete will avoid having to call you to come
in to complete it correctly if any information is missing.
This form is required and will be placed in the student’s Career
Folder after the Principal places her signature on the form.
PSSA Testing – March 31 through April
11
Our statewide testing begins for grades 3,
4, and 5 on Monday, March 31. This is an important set of tests
because it yields individual scores for your child, and it tells
us where our strengths and weaknesses are as instructional
leaders.
In preparation for this testing, please see
that your child gets adequate sleep during that week, and
encourage him/her to eat breakfast. During the testing, our home
and school association is providing a nutritious snack each
morning for four days. We hope to finish the testing during that
time and utilize the other days for makeups.
Please work with us to see that your child
gets the best experience possible from this high stakes testing
experience. These scores, especially for the fifth grade, will
begin to shape students’ high school careers.
Attendance Policies
Every month, we have sent out letters that require
students to have a doctor’s excuse in case of absence, and that
has caused some consternation among parents. Please note that
district policy requires me to sign attendance letters each
month that address one of the following circumstances:
Abnormally high absences
Required doctor’s excuse
Excess unlawful days
Please understand that these letters are
generated by the program built into the district’s server. They
print out when certain requirements are met or reached. If you
believe you have received one of these letters in error, please
call the school. They are in compliance with the state board of
education of Pennsylvania, which closely monitors student
absences. Every summer, we must show paperwork that indicates
where each child is each day. That’s why excuses must be
complete and thorough. Thanks for your understanding and
cooperation in this matter.
