Committees

Assemblies: This committee is responsible for booking special programs for the children during the school year. Spirit Drive: Each year, we sell East Derry items, such as tee-shirts and sweatshirts, to promote school spirit. This committee will also help promote school spirit week.
Book Fair: This committee will be responsible for scheduling, setting up and running the book fair. Volunteers will be asked to help run the book fair during the day. Two book fairs are usually scheduled during the year. With the profit from the event, we will purchase new books for the library and for in the classrooms. This is always a big success and has greatly helped our inventory grow! Room Parents: The chairperson distributes the names of volunteers who would like to help with parties, field trips, etc. to teachers.
Box Tops: This committee is responsible for sorting and counting the box tops that the children bring in each month for the General Mills "Box Tops for Education:" Program Holiday Workshop: In December, we will hold our Holiday Workshop. This sis so that our students can have an opportunity to shop for loved ones, family, and friends, on their own. We need people to volunteer during the day to assist the students in making their selections and purchases. This is a great way to get the Christmas Spirit in time for the holidays!
Campbell's Soup Labels/Tyson Labels: This committee is responsible for sorting and counting the soup labels and Tyson Labels the children bring in each month. Teachers' Luncheon: This committee is responsible for coordinating and serving a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for the teachers at the end of the school year.
Field Day: This committee plans the outdoor activities for our special all-day event that is held near the end of the school year. You will organize games and relay races for all grades. We also need volunteers to help during that day. This is a fun day for everyone involved. Hospitality: Throughout the year, we provide refreshments for such events as Open House, DARE graduation, and 5th Grade Graduation. We use this sign-up list to contact those who are willing to donate items and/or time. Please sign up for this committee so that we can use donations and not have to purchase the refeshments.
Fundraisers: Everyone has thoughts as to the best fundraiser to choose, so here is your chance to help make that decision. Without a successful fundraiser, we will be extremely limited in what we caqn provide to our students. This committee decides which type of fundraiser to have, prize incentives for students, etc. Yearbook: This committee takes the candid photos for the yearbook, designs the lay-out, and chooses what is to be included in this free gift to each student. Here is your chance to show-off your creative talents! Last year only 3 people were on the committee, a lot more help is needed.
