[MCSD]   [Schools]   [East Derry]

Trooper Dave from the Altoona barracks of the state police came and spoke to the East Derry 4th and 5th graders last week. The purpose of his visit was to tell the students about things found on the Internet and to try to keep them safe. He also wanted to impress on the children to never trust anyone on the Internet.

He introduced the children to some characters who they might meet or be on  their computers.
Wizzywig means "What you see is not what you get" on the Internet.
Spamozoid is junk mail that you don't want to receive.
Numbut is a person who is addicted to the computer.
Follow You Fiona is a person who tries to trick your personal information from you and wants to meet you in person IRL. (See below)
IRL means "In Real Life".
Oogle is a person who stares at your writing to get your identity.
HotHeat means viruses, mean and dangerous stuff that messes up your computer.
