Students examine the major concepts of the impact of geography on land use and settlement, the history of indigenous groups, and the struggle for freedom and democracy.

Description: This course is the study of why human beings and animals behave as they do. Included is a desire to understand the whole range of human experience, along with reasons for people's motives, thoughts, feelings and emotions. With this knowledge we can better adjust to situations and meet the challenges that face us in our daily living. This course is offered for one half year. The depth and complexity of this elective will be determined by the students' ability, inquisitiveness and desire to learn more about himself and his fellow human beings.

Description: This course will provide students with an analytical perspective on government and politics in the United States. The study will include general principles of government and analysis of specific examples to gain an understanding on the American political system. The students will understand the various institutions, groups, beliefs, and ideas that constitute American politics. The course will be taught as a college level course and is designed to prepare the students for the Advanced Placement examination which is required.

Description: This course aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to the economic system as a whole (macroeconomics) and the individual decision makers, both producers and consumers, within the larger economic system (microeconomics). The course is the equivalent of the college level introductory course and is also designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement examinations which are required.
