Students engage in 20 motor ability tests. Students will work with peers in a cooperative setting.

The Presidential Physical Fitness Mile Run

What observable and measurable performance criteria will be used to judge what students know and/or can do?

Presidential Physical Fitness Test’s standards

Design a rubric or checklist to assess the task. Indicate the criteria needed for mastery.

The standards are based on student’s age at the time of the test. The age of sixth grade boys usually falls within the ages of 11-12. The assessment is based on an 11-year-old boy.

A = 7:32 minutes or less
B = 7:33-10:00 minutes
C = 10:01-13:00 minutes
D = 13:01-15:00 minutes

D = 15:01 minutes plus (Students don’t fail but must redo the run until they finish in 13:00 minutes or less.)
