Ten Things That Make Me Special
This lesson is done with the part of the text that discusses
different family make-ups. Students are given a manila folder and
markers and are asked to list or draw the following:
- Favorite food, color, subject, friend, etc.
- With whom do you live? Include adults, children, and pets.
- List ten things that make you special. Some students may need
prompted at first.
- Have each student present his/her folder to the class.
- Teacher reinforces how there are different family types, but all
students are very special.
Paperwork is kept for health class.
Folders are reviewed at the end of the year, and emphasis is placed on
"Who I Am As a Person" and "The Importance of Good
Decisions."
