Course Description: This course will enable students to learn that health and wellness is related to their levels of physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being.

Maintain a food diary for a specified time to evaluate the following:

  • Healthful food selections

Identify the main ingredients in food products through label reading, and compare nutritional values of different foods.

Recognize the number of calories in a pound and the amount of energy required to lose, gain, or maintain a pound.
