Course Description: Keyboarding is taught directly at the
personal computer. This course teaches proper alphabetic and
numeric touch keyboarding skills. Keyboarding applications will
include composing at the keyboard, personal and business letters,
centering exercises, and term paper formatting. Introduction to
Choices computer software is also included. This course is
particularly recommended for college bound students as well as
vocational and business students desiring computer-keyboarding
skills.
Required Time: One Semester

save, retrieve, delete, and print documents using common software
commands
format a correctly placed personal and business letter with envelope
key documents requiring vertical and horizontal centering
prepare reports, manuscripts, and term papers using acceptable

key sentences and paragraphs applying correct punctuation,
capitalization, and number usage
use basic editing skills such as spell-check and proofreaders’ marks
Develop the ability to do the following:
compose sentences, paragraphs, and documents at the keyboard
proofread and edit copy accurately
