the activity
Conclude
your spider studies with this no-bake treat.
To make these cookie spiders, you will need one sandwich cookie and
four 4-inch strings of licorice per student, white frosting tinted with
food coloring, plastic knives for spreading the frosting, and a supply of
colorful cake decorating candies. A
student carefully opens the sandwich cookie and centers the licorice
strings over the cream filling. He
spreads and thin layer of frosting inside the remaining cookie half and
presses it atop the licorice strings.
Next, he spreads a thin layer of frosting on top of the cookie and
presses two to eight cake-decorating candies (eyes) into the icing.
Spiderific! Before the
students eat their creations, ask them to explain what is anatomically
correct and incorrect about their spiders. |
