Webmail Basics using

One 3-hour session
  • Navigating in Outlook Web Access
  • Handling Spam and Junk Mail
  • Locating school district email addresses
  • Creating a distribution list
  • Creating a contact list
  • Using attachments
Introduction to Microsoft Word 
Three 2-hour sessions
  •  Using the tool and menu bars
  • Creating, editing, formatting, saving and printing a document
  • Using Drawing tools and Word Art
  •  Inserting graphics from Clip Art and the web
Advanced Microsoft Word
Three 2-hour sessions
  • Using text boxes, borders, columns, numbered and bulleted lists
  • Using outlines, charts, margins and tabs
  • Customizing Word Toolbars and personalizing settings
  •  Using Mail Merge to create parent letters and mailings
  • Using Word and Word templates to develop brochures, letters, calendars, etc.
Developing Web Pages for Elementary Educators
Four 2-hour sessions
This is an introductory class geared to elementary teachers who wish to create web pages to communicate information to parents, students and the public. This information might include schedules, homework assignments, spelling lists and class highlights. Instruction on how to display class photographs will be included.   
Introduction to Microsoft Excel
Three 2-hour sessions
  • Navigating in a spreadsheet (columns, rows, cells)
  • Increasing and deleting number and size of columns and rows
  • Formatting and sorting cells and columns
  • Working with formulas
  • Creating charts and graphs
  • Creating a spreadsheet to calculate grades
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Three 2-hour sessions
  • Working with formulas and functions
  • Using the Autofil feature
  •  Absolute and Relative Referencing
  •   Inserting Graphics
  •  Linking Spreadsheets
  • Merging an Excel spreadsheet into a Word Mail merge document
Fun With Spreadsheets
Three 2-hour sessions
Integrate real life situations with technology and enjoy using spreadsheets with your K- 5 students to:
  • alphabetize lists
  • create charts and graphs and pictographs
  • build databases
  • create self-checking drill and practice
  • create daily logs or journals for any topic
  • build grade books
  • and many more cool, easy Excel projects

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint
Three 2-hour sessions

  • Inserting new and duplicate slides
  • Inserting text, graphics, animations and sound
  • Applying slide layouts, design templates, animation schemes and transitions
  • Adding custom animation
  • Setting up a show
Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint
Three 2-hour sessions
  • Using Action Buttons to individualize slide order
  • Using advanced custom animation
  • Using Action Settings
  • Creating PowerPoint presentation to use in the classroom
Introduction to Microsoft Publisher
Three 2-hour sessions

 

  • Insert, delete, move and resize text boxes and graphics
  • Insert Word Art and auto shapes
  • Flip or rotate objects
  • Use draw features of Publisher
  • Insert Word Art
  • Align or distribute objects
  • Create a bi-fold or tri fold document 
Advanced Microsoft Publisher
Three 2-hour sessions
  • Insert Design Gallery Object

  • Use templates to create documents

  • Create Publisher document to use in the classroom

Computer Basics
Two 2-hour sessions
  • Managing documents (saving and retrieving files, creating folders)
  • Printing to the classroom or lab printer
  • Basic Software Support Strategies (What to do when a software program crashes, etc.)
  • Using Email
  • What is the Intranet and how can it help you?
Teacher Tools
Three 2-hour sessions
  • Creating worksheets, etc. in Word and Excel
  • Using Mail Merge
  • Using digital cameras and inserting pictures into documents
  • Using the district resources on the Intranet
  • Finding appropriate Internet resources to create word puzzles, find clip art, create calendars, print outline maps and teacher forms, etc.
  • Locating and using Internet resources to plan lessons and projects
  • Using Web Mail, attachments and distribution lists
Teaching with the Resources of the Internet
  • using search engines efficiently
  • finding curriculum and research information and lesson plans
  • using the Internet for student research
  • using web projects, web quests, and interactive games
  • designing Internet lesson plans
