Characteristics of Internet Projects  
  • Students develop links with other students or experts outside of their school environment for a specific purpose and specific period of time.
  • Project goals and  timelines are clearly defined.
  • Students create and share their work, research or questions via the Internet
  • Student activities involve collaboration with other students/people outside their school
  • Projects engage students in classrooms at different locations in collaborative work to solve a common problem or to explore a common topic.
  • Projects  usually involve some sort of data collection, collaboration or exchange of information between classes or schools from other areas, states or countries.
  • There is an exchange of information between the participants. (Interpersonal exchange, Information collection and analysis, and Problem Solving)
  • Projects can cross international and cultural boundaries, making students aware of other cultures and their environments and problems.
  • This is an instructional approach that uses project-based learning with Internet resources.
