Mr. Michael H. LaMarca, Principal

Thank You, Parents!

I would like to thank everyone involved in the Santa Sale. The Home and School did a great job and each volunteer was wonderful.

I would also like to thank all parents for their continued support of the Reading Challenge. Each minute you spend reading with and listening to your child helps them gain confidence and improved fluency and comprehension.

Because of your support, students hard work and staff commitment, Buchanan Elementary has received Achievement Recognition from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for Adequate Yearly Progress for two consecutive years, (2005-06 and 2006-07). Buchanan also received this achievement for the 2002-03 and 2003-04 school years.

On another note, many of our students are  walkers and sometimes get picked up by parents. Please continue to do so in a safe manner. Parents are not to park in the yellow marked areas from 7:30-8:30 am. and from 2:30 –3:30 pm. The safety of our children depend on this.

As always you will be notified of delays and cancellations when poor weather conditions exist. Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately and respectfully.

Again, your help is vital and much appreciated. Helping your child prepare for the school day whether it is to make sure homework is completed, tests are prepared for or just starting off the day in a positive way, will add to your child’s sense of responsibility.
