Home and School Committees Below, please find a brief description of some of our committees. If you have any questions, please contact any of the officers or chairpersons of the committee. Program Committee (Katrina Earnest, Chairperson)Each year we provide approximately 6 special programs for the students. This committee makes the decisions as to which programs we choose. Join now to plan next year’s programs. Fund-raiser (Rachelle Aumiller, Chairperson) Everyone has thoughts as to the best fund-raiser to choose, so here is your chance to help make that decision. Without a successful fund-raiser, we will be extremely limited in what we can provide to our students. This committee decides which type of fund-raiser to have, prize incentives for students, etc. Year
Book (Shannon Zarkovich, Chairperson) Each year, we sell Armagh Armadillo items, such as tee-shirts and sweatshirts, to promote school spirit. This committee chooses the design, colors, and items to be sold. This is not a fund-raiser and is held only to promote school spirit. Santa’s Workshop (Holly Bowersox, Chairperson) In December, we will hold our Santa’ s Workshop. We purchase items from the local Dollar Tree and have a display here in our Computer Room. This is so that our students can have an opportunity to shop for loved ones, family and friends, on their own. We need people to volunteer during the day to assist the students in making their selections and purchases. This is a great way to get the Christmas Spirit in time for the holidays!! Again, this is not a fund-raiser. Book Fair (Tammy Ranck, Chairpersons) Next March, we will be holding a Book Fair that will enable our students (and parents) to purchase quality books from the Scholastic Book Club. We will need volunteers to work during the day or possibly one evening to help with the selections and purchases. With the profits from the event, we will purchase new books for in the library and for in the classrooms. This is always a big success and has greatly helped our inventory grow! This is a great opportunity for us "Book worms" to preview the selections!! Hospitality (Gina Himes, Chairperson) You have already received a notice about this committee, but just in case you didn’t!! Throughout the year, we provide refreshments for such events as Open House, DARE graduation, 5th grade musical and Spring Festival. We use this sign-up list to contact those who are willing to donate items and/or time. Please sign-up for this committee so that we can use donations and not have to purchase the refreshments!! Spring Festival Games (Rachelle Aumiller & Jodi Kibe) Raffle (Holly Bowersox) Kitchen (Gina Himes) In May, we will hold a Spring Festival. This event includes games with prizes, refreshments (such as pizza, hot dogs, barbecue, cakes...) and a wonderful raffle that generally has well over 100 prizes. Although May seems to be along way off, we actually begin planning for this event early in the year. So please consider signing up for any of the three committees involved (games, kitchen, and raffle). We need at least 80-100 people to volunteer for a three hour time frame. We definitely need your help!!
Field Day (Niki Kahley & Timi Narehood) We are hoping that this information will help you have a better understanding of what the Armagh Home and School Association consists of and of what we are here to do. We are very committed to providing a higher quality of environment for our children and strongly believe in parents and teachers working together for this goal.
