SCHOOL BUS SAFETY TIPS

  1. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT.

  2. DO NOT SCREAM AND YELL ON THE SCHOOL BUS.

  3. DO NOT EAT OR DRINK WHILE RIDING THE BUS... YOU COULD CHOKE.

  4. REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF.

  5. TALK QUIETLY TO THE OTHER STUDENTS IN YOUR SEAT.

  6. IF YOUR DRIVER ALLOWS YOU TO PUT A WINDOW DOWN…REMEMBER IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PUT IT UP BEFORE YOU GET OFF THE BUS.

  7. ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR DRIVER. THE DRIVER IS THE BOSS ON THE BUS, JUST LIKE YOUR TEACHER IS THE BOSS IN YOUR CLASSROOM.

  8. BE AT YOUR BUS STOP ON TIME. DON’T PUSH OTHERS AT THE BUS STOP OR WHEN GETTING ON THE BUS.

  9. STAY SEATED UNTIL THE BUS IS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT YOUR BUS STOP.

  10. YOU MAY CHEER AT A FOOTBALL GAME, JUMP AND YELL ON THE PLAYGROUND, BUT ON THE SCHOOL BUS YOU MUST BE QUIET SO THE DRIVER CAN HEAR AND NOT BE DISTRACTED.

  11. ALWAYS SIT IN YOUR ASSIGNED SEAT.

  12. WATCH FOR TRAFFIC WHEN YOU GET OFF THE SCHOOL BUS. WE WANT YOU TO BE SAFE. REMEMBER: TRAFFIC D0ES NOT ALWAYS STOP WHEN THE RED LIGHTS ON THE BUS ARE BLINKING.

  13. DO NOT CROSS THE ROAD AT YOUR BUS STOP UNTIL THE BUS IS COMPLETELY STOPPED, THE RED LIGHTS ARE ON THE STOP SIGN IS OUT, AND THE CROSSING GATE IS OUT ON THE FRONT OF THE BUS. WATCH YOUR DRIVER, WHO WILL THEN LET YOU KNOW IF IT IS SAFE TO CROSS.

  14. THE AISLES MUST BE KEPT CLEAR AT ALL TIMES. THIS MEANS YOU MUST KEEP YOUR FEET AND BOOKBAGS OUT OF AISLE AND KEEP YOUR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT.

  15. IN THE MORNING, PLEASE BE AT YOUR BUS STOP ON TIME AND WAIT FOR YOUR BUS IN A SAFE PLACE.

  16. IF YOU DROP SOMETHING IN FRONT OF THE BUS...DO NOT BEND DOWN TO PICK IT UP UNLESS YOU LET THE DRIVER KNOW YOU NEED TO GET SOMETHING. THE BUSES ARE VERY BIG AND THE DRIVER CAN’T ALWAYS SEE. YOU BE SAFE!

  17. WHEN YOU GET OFF THE BUS, ALWAYS CROSS IN FRONT OF THE BUS.

  18. STAY OUT OF THE DANGER ZONE. THAT MEANS STAY 10 GIANT STEPS AWAY FROM THE BUS. ASK YOUR TEACHER TO SHOW YOU WHAT THE DANGER ZONE IS.

  19. ALWAYS WALK TO AND FROM THE SCHOOL BUS. PLEASE DO NOT RUN ANYWHERE CLOSE TO A SCHOOL BUS.

  20. BUS DRIVERS CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY. HELP THE DRIVER BY KEEPING YOUR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT AND DON’T BE LOUD ON THE BUS. THE DRIVER CAN THEN PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD.

  21. REMEMBER EVERY TIME THE DRIVER HAS TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR INSIDE THE BUS, THEIR EYES ARE NOT ON THE ROAD. THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. DO YOUR JOB; KEEP YOUR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT & BE QUIET.
