| All kindergarten students in the Mifflin County
School District attended "Animal Awareness Day" at the Reedsville
Youth Park on April 25, 2008. The event was sponsored by the Penn
State Cooperative Extension -- Mifflin County.
Jennifer Fleck, Mifflin County 4-H Educator, organized the
activities and stations. Mrs. Fleck said planning for the event
starts in February. Leaders for the stations were representatives
from: Mifflin County 4-H, Pennsylvania Beef Council, SUM Child
Development, Dairy Princess, John Tyson-PSU Ag Engineer, Greg
Hostetter-PSU Ag Educator Juniata County, Juniata Co Seeing Eye
Puppy Club, Big Valley FFA, Helen
Sangrey, PSU Nutrition educator,
presented "Healthy Snacks" and
Cristy Yoders, from Success by
Six, assisted with the games.
