Robert and Lisa
Peachey Dairy Farm
|
The Robert and Lisa
Peachey Dairy Farm is
located just off Route
655 at the Barrville
intersection. The
students unloaded and
loaded the busses at the
top of the lane and the
busses parked at
Peachey's Meat Market,
which is across the road
from the farm. More photos of
the Peachey Dairy Farm
are at the
end of the
tour. |
2. Cereal /
Grains
|
There
are more varieties of grain
than oats and wheat. Barley,
wheat, oats and rye are the
grains that area farms plant
and harvest. These grains are
present in a variety of
processed foods that we
purchase at the store, such
as cereals, breads, etc.
Seed + soil + water + sun
is needed for grains to
produce. A special piece of
farm equipment is used to
harvest the grain from the
field. |
